Now in its 16th year, this fun and elegant annual Dinner, Dance, and Live and Silent Auction funds the Sonoma County Task Force for the Homeless- the coalition of service providers, businesses, religious congregations, and individuals working since 1981 to prevent and end local homelessness, and to assist people who have lost their homes. Over 8000 people will experience homelessness in Sonoma County at some point this year.
October in Paradise begins with hors d'oeuvres, a selection of the county’s finest wines, and connecting with new and old friends while taking in breathtaking views to the music of live jazz ensemble Brulee. This year our annual Spirit of Service Award goes to Dr. Michael Kozart, the heart and mainstay of Santa Rosa Community Health Center’s A Street Clinic. The Marijke Byck Spirit of Community Award will be presented to Gale Brownell for her brilliant, sensitive and tireless leadership on issues of housing and homelessness. A spirited live auction with celebrity auctioneer Ernie Carpenter will be followed by a sunset pasta dinner from noted local chefs, with quality wines from area vintners. The silent auction runs most of the evening on the lower level. Our auctions offers great wine packages, an amazing South African Safari, escapes to Maui and Mendocino, fine art, local spa and dining experiences, and unique treasures. Enjoy delicious desserts and dance the night away to the great sounds of The Blue Moon Rhythm & Blues Dance Band with a magnificent view from this gorgeous spot overlooking Santa Rosa.
This is a great opportunity to support our progress toward effective solutions to homelessness. We invite our whole community to participate. Businesses or individuals may become event sponsors, donate an item for our auctions or raffle, buy a block of tickets and celebrate with friends and colleagues, or just attend and have a wonderful evening. Event tickets are $70 in advance and $75 at the door.
